What is the procedure to get connected to electricity supply ?

HOW MUCH CAPACITY DO I NEED?
  • Take a rational decision regarding the permitted capacity of your electricity facilities. Excessive capacity (that is not fully utilised) will increase your expenses;
  • In order to determine the permitted capacity refer to the specialists with the appropriate qualification who will be installing the internal networks.

WHICH ELECTRICITY SUPPLY SECURITY CATEGORY SHOULD I CHOSE?
  • Security category 3 is ensured by supplying electricity from a single electricity source by a single power line. In case of a termination of electricity transmission, the electricity supply at the electricity network of both the operator and the electricity customer must be restored within no later than 24 hours.
  • Security category 2 is ensured by supplying electricity from two electricity sources by two power lines. In case of a termination of electricity transmission, the electricity supply at the electricity network of both the operator and the electricity customer must be restored from at least one electricity source within no later than 2.5 hours.
  • Security category 1 is ensured when the electricity is supplied to customers from two or more independent electricity sources by individual electricity lines, and the power supply may be terminated for the time required for switching from one independent electricity source to another, or for a repeated switch on of the power source.

A customer which has been ensured security category 1 and requires an uninterrupted supply with electricity (for specifically important category 1 electricity receiver groups), is required to arrange and ensure the electricity supply from own autonomous electricity sources (batteries, electricity generators, etc.) with the properly operating automatics able to connect a disconnected Group 1 electricity receiver to the power supply sources concerned.

For customers choosing security category 1 and category 2, the connection fee is multiplied by two.

HOW MUCH WILL I PAY FOR THE CONNECTION SERVICE?
  • The amount of the connection service fee will be established having assessed the capacity permitted in your respect and the length of built or reconstructed power network. 
  • Rates for the connection of consumer devices to electricity networks, EUR, excl. VAT:

All other consumers except household consumers pay 40% of the approved connection fee.
Rates listed below are applied for connecting new permitted capacity up to 500 kW.

WHEN ELECTRICITY WILL BE INSTALLED?
In case the connection of a customer's electricity facilities to the distribution electricity networks of AB ESO requires carrying out the works not related to building the electricity network, and no separate project is required for performing the works up to 25 calendar dayswhether the project plan is prepared both by selected designer and by ESO

When for the purpose of carrying out the connection works the operator organises the public procurement of works, and in case securing and/or improving of the connected electricity equipment, or the parameters of the distribution and/or transmission network, require the installation and/or reconstruction of 330 kV, 110 kV, 35 kV overhead or cable power lines, 330/110/10 kV, 110/35/10(6), 110/10(6) kV, 35/10 kV transformer stations and distribution units, except for the cases when at the time of signing the contract no scheme for the connection of the customer's electric equipment to the power networks as been drawn up , and there is no possibility to indicate the exact term for the connection of the customer's power equipment. up to 12 months2 whether the project plan is prepared both by selected designer and by ESO

1 – from the day of payment of the connection fee
2 – from the signature of the contract on works with the contractor who has won the public procurement tender.


When providing to a customer a requested service for the transfer of ESO electricity equipment, a contractual term for the provision of the service is established; the term starts from the date of signing the contract with the contractor performing the electricity equipment transferring works.

The term for the provision of the service may be longer, when a longer term for the completion of the works is required due to their seasonal character, the peculiarity and the scope of the project, or other reasons beyond the control of ESO.

WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
  • The identity document of the manager of the entity / authorised person (In order the application is submitted in service center "Gilė");
  • Construction permit or a document approved by the Municipality that the permit is not required;
  • Cadastral plot plan (scale 1:500 or 1:1000) with the marked place for the installation of the meter – Example
  • Location of the plot on the map (requirements);
  • The document certifying the representation on behalf of the legal person (in case the application is filed not by the manager of the company)
Submit an application and select an electricity network designer

Whether connecting to the electricity system requires project drawings will be specified in the connection service conditions issued by ESO.

Where your preferred permitted capacity is up to 500 kW, please indicate in the application who will prepare the project plan. Project plan works may be performed by:

  • ESO. The project plan work price will be set according to the rate provided by the contractor that has concluded a contract with ESO, or according to the rates of the services acquired by way of public procurement.

  • Your independently selected design company. For your convenience please find a list of design companies that have completed project plan works for our customers. The price of the project plans will depend on the agreed terms.

Submit the application for ordering the service by one of the following methods:

  • Independently, using the self-service website www.manogile.lt.
  • At the customer service centre "Gilė", with an assistance of a consultant.
  • We will inform you of the approval/rejection of the application within 2 working days. 
  • We will draw up the technical conditions – within 5 working days.
In case no project plan is required, in connection with the technical conditions we will draw up the contract on the connection service, and the contract on the electricity transmission service – in 5 working days.

Where your preferred permitted capacity is above 500 kW, from 1 January 2017 onwards project plan can be also prepared by ESO.

In case the project drawing is prepared by the company of your choice – please draw up a project plan for connecting to the power networks.

Whether the connection requires a project plan you may find out at ESO having received the terms and conditions of the connection service.

  • The designer that you have selected must prepared and approve the project  plan in the established procedure.
  • Please provide to a Customer service centre "Gilė" 2 paper copies of the plan, and a digital CD copy in PDF format.
We will submit to you the contract on the connection service, and the contract on the electricity transmission service – in 5 working days from the submission of the approved project plan.
Sign and return the contracts, pay the fee for the connection service
CUSTOMER ESO
  • Sign the contract on the connection service, and the contract on the electricity transmission service.
  • Return the contracts to ESO; You can do that:
    - at self-service internet website   www.manogile.lt
    - at the customer service centre "Gilė";
    - send the copies of the contracts at the      address indicated in the contracts.

After signing the contract in the self service website contracts automatically will be received by ESO.

Pay for the connection service by one of the following methods:

- At the self-service website www.manogile.lt;
- Transfer to the account according to the data specified below. No requirement to provide a copy of the payment transfer.
- In cash at the payment collection locations.

We will notify you of the course of drawing up the contracts on the connection service, and the electricity transmission service

In case of paying the fee to another account (e.g.  the account for the payment of the fees for electricity consumption), the connection service may be delayed for the period of clarifying the purpose of the fee received.

Prepare the internal electricity networks for connection

We will install electricity meter and start the electricity supply after:

  • We have completed electricity network construction works. You will be informed by e-mail and at the self-service website www.manogile.lt on the completion of connection works;
  • Your contractor provided the required Contractor Certificate on the inspection of the technical condition of customer’s internal electricity network.

The following steps have to be completed in order to finalize the connection to electricity system:

  • Complete internal electricity network installation works;
  • Order a certificate on the inspection of the technical condition of customer’s internal electricity network issued by the State Energy Inspectorate;
  • More on the required certificates – at the website of the State Energy Inspectorate: www.vei.lt
  • We will inform you by e-mail on the completion of connection works;
  • We will inform you at the self-service website www.manogile.lt about the receipt of the Contractor Certificate on the inspection of the technical condition of customer’s internal electricity network issued by the State Energy inspectorate;
  • We will connect the customer to  ESO network within 5 working days from the completion of the electricity network construction works and receipt of the Contractor Certificate.

Customer has the right to select independent electricity supplier. In case independent electricity supplier is not selected, electricity shall be supplied by ESO and guaranteed electricity tariff shall be applied.
