Our purpose, strategy, priorities and targets​

Integrated business model​

Ignitis Group is a renewables-focused integrated utility, benefiting from the largest customer portfolio, energy storage facility and network in the Baltics. Ignitis Group is active in the Baltic states, Poland and Finland. We are leveraging our largest customer portfolio, energy storage facility, and network in the Baltics. We are utilising our integrated business model to maximise potential and:​

  • deliver 4–5 GW of installed green generation and green flexibility capacity by 2030;​
  • expand a resilient and efficient network that enables electrification;​
  • utilise and further expand our customer portfolio to enable the Green Capacities build-out;​
  • contribute to the security of the energy system.​

We are strengthening our contribution to Europe’s decarbonisation and energy security in the region while accelerating the energy transition and electrification in the Baltics and Poland. More information about the Group’s purpose and purpose-driven priorities is available here. ​

UAB “Kauno kogeneracinė jėgainė“ significantly contributes to the execution of the Group's strategy, is an integral part of the organisation and follows the Group’s strategy and stategic plan in its activities.​

Strategic priorities and targets of the company​

  3. Sustainability and ESG. As part of our strategy, we focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions while following the science-based targets, promoting safety at work with a focus on TRIR and zero fatalities, taking care of the employee experience through initiatives related to well-being, education and growth, ensuring fair pay, promoting diversity and inclusion, encouraging diversity among top executives, and creating sustainable value through sustainable investments and returns.​

The strategy of Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius 2030

The ESO strategy has been prepared considering the long-term and strategic goals of Ignitis Group (previously – Lietuvos Energija) established in 2018. ESO strategy covers the period till 2030. Till that time ESO plans to significantly increase network resistance to atmospheric factors, to implement technological, intelligent solutions that include remote, automated network control and maintenance and to develop a customer experience management model across the ESO value chain. These measures will ensure a stable return and maintain the optimal value-to-price ratio for customers.

The main focus in the implementation of the new ESO strategy will be placed on increasing the reliability of the network, deployment of intelligent solutions for real-time operations, facilitation and development of the electricity market through open and neutral platform solutions and efforts to create a service market which provides the same operating conditions for all market participants. The sum of actions established in the ESO strategy will ensure the best value to customers both in terms of reliability and intelligence of infrastructure as well as of variety and price of services. Accordingly, developing infrastructure will allow market participants/energy suppliers to develop and provide services that meet individual needs of each customer.

Strategic directions of ESO 2030 correspond to the goals laid down in the ESO’s 10-year investment plan and the National Energy Independence Strategy.
